I’ve been commissioned to shoot a commercial for a cream. Here are some shots from this shoot and some tips that will help you during the process. For this shoot, you should prepare two types of ice in advance: one that you’ll use in the shot-when freezing, you can add flowers, plants, or even coffee inside the ice-and another type to cool the water in the aquarium. It may sound simple, but remember that the lights will heat your water, and the ice will melt quickly, so don’t forget about this. Also, ensure your aquarium is clean before shooting. Another tip for shooting: to make mint sink nicely to the bottom, mix it with water before pouring it into the aquarium. This applies to any product that is lighter than water and can’t naturally submerge well.
