AQUARIUM LIGHTING TUTORIAL - PLANTED TANK LIGHTING

AQUARIUM LIGHTING TUTORIAL – PLANTED TANK LIGHTING

In this tutorial, we talk about the lights, subjectively. We will show you the ones we use in the Green Aqua Gallery. Please do not expect a very scientific description here, that was not the main point of this video.

You’ll hopefully get a good idea on what type of light you need for your planted tank after this. We’ll give you recommendations on how many lights you’ll need for a bigger tank, how high you should place them, and in what way are T5 tubes different from their LED counterparts.

How about you? What type of light you have on your tank? Which one worked the best for you? Let us know in the comment below!

I would love to see a video on trimming plants. For example i don’t know where to trim ferns if its at the base of the leaf.

Algae really isn’t a problem when you have pothos in your tank xD And If I do get any, I have a adult female pleco, 4 of her babies (RIP Mr. Plecosaurus her mate and father of her children. He was with me for many years, I miss the big guy 🥺) and 1 Super Red Juvenile Pleco as well. I’m sure they’d actually approve of any algae that came their way. There’s a Nerite snail too, Just one. He’s called (Char-)Coal because his shell is pure black and I bought him around christmas lol.

No i’m not keeping them in a 10 gallon. They all live in a planted 60, Im just childish and dote on my fish. I like to name them and figure out their personalities based on how they interact with the other fish. It’s fun for me. I don’t with the Neon Tetras though because, they all look identical… (The plecos are all different morphs of Bristlenose, that’s why I can tell them appart. That was intentional.)

I could not calculate how much light I need for a 100l net aquarium with a length of 80cm with medium plants? I prefer an LED light. I know that for t5 tubes you need at least 0.5w / l. thanks

Some people wanna convince themselves that plants do well without Co2 but in reality plants just struggle without it, making this hobby boring as hell.

I enjoyed your video, but have a suggestion. Throughout the video, the constent cutting just for the music was a bit distracting. I actually got lost acouple of times of what lights you were continuing to talk about when I was just trying to hear your recommendations. I think keeping the music breaks as breaks rather then almost acting as interuptions would be helpful.

Can the LED lights on the Fluval Spec 2.6 gallon kit tank damage human eyes? I see that there is a blue and white light mix and am not sure if it is UV lighting. I've read mixed opinions and am not sure that I fully understand it. Concerned because there is no hood over the light and it is in my kid's room. Thanks!

Not really satisfied. It does not give out details as to what is an rgb light, how it helps, led vs tubes, how it helps on growth of plants, what symptoms are there for low light and of they are higher then what impact. How the height of lights is important. Companies mentioned of light doesnt i clude many other manufacturers like sunsun chihiros. For a aquascaping beginner who did not grow up in a developed world, this video is not informative at all.
