Rescue betta has some sort of fin rot. I put her in a separate tank with higher heat and 3 gallons of water. Can I put salt in her water to help her? Or do you recommend antibiotic ointment only?

The fungus blob at the front of my Betta's bottom fin has turned black with several Polysporin treatments. There is still one small bit of white fungus left on the black blob. Can I do one more treatment or wait? It stresses him out quite a bit. ty so much for your help.

Can I put antibiotic ointment (bacitracin) on my betta? He has a fungal growth on his body and doesn't look like he will survive until friday when the methylene blue gets here in the mail.

Would it be okay to add colloidal silver to the infected area or the water? This has anti-fungal, anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-parasitic properties.

My little elephant ear betta girl has a fungal infection on her left side on her body. I was using imagitarium fungal antidote but it just looks like it’s getting bigger. Is the cream you’re talking about Neosporin or another antidote completely? She also came from petco like this, so she’s in a clean tank by herself.

I read that for fish meds to actually work they need to be ingested by fish and not just floating in tank water. Is this true?

@fatherFish, I have a fungus growing in my tank, on the substrate. This has made one of my betta fish lethargic and slopping down towards the bottom of the tank, often resting on the substrate; granted this is unusual behavior for MY fish. How can I cleanse/remove this fungus? PLEASE HELP

This is great information, there are so many "fish meds" that are just low doses of human used medicines. Like Bactrim, Vancomycin, Doxycycline, Metronidazole and Cephalexin! Incredible!

Just have to be sure there are not binding agents or analgesics in the formulas and it is essentially the same medication! ❤❤

Just tried this on my betta who has had a bacterial thing coming out of one nostril for about 3 days. When I took him out of the tank that bacterial feathery thing fell off. I used a generic CVS brand called antibiotic ointment. I will report back progress.

So are we talking petroleum based antibiotic ointment like Neosporin? Or do we need to find a non petroleum product?
