This movie was like 3-4 of the worst people you know in the city all getting entangled romantically. I could never give it a thumbs up, but it was very stylish at the time, at least.

I just saw this at the Alamo and I found it stunning. Seems like it got mixed reviews when it came out, but it's aged very well.

Clive Owen has this ability to just draw you in no matter what he says, what role he plays….he just has this magnetic pull to him that makes me interested to hear what he is going to say next every second I see him.

The last time just recently. Everything in it made perfect sense to me now. Like a raw documentary about human nature.

If I would see this trailer in cinema, my reaction would be so WTF. But as a DVD film for home, it is a really great movie.

I hated every character in this movie except Natalie Portman.
Clive Owen was particularly great in this. I remember hoping that he’d win the supporting Oscar that year. I suspect he was runner up.

“Closer” intensely and intimately pulls out important, meanings and emotions most of us feel. The acting, the story, the music are exquisite and raw, but the brilliance is found in the characters themselves. I will never tire of this movie.
My favorite scene was the first meeting of Julia and Clive at the aquarium. 👌
i wonder if this is why Clive Owen did not become james bond… even though i think he is great in this.. maybe this is not the producer Broccoli vision of what James Bond should come from. Despite the hype that he would be the next , Clive said he was never approached at all.
