I've watched so many tutorial videos, but yours is by far the clearest and most well-explained. It doesn’t feel complicated like the others. Thank you so much. Please continue sharing your knowledge, it truly makes a difference for learners like me.
You're such a clever man! Love your videos and ideas. Thanks for a great channel 🎉
I can't seem to locate one, but do you have a video where you show exactly how to set up a basic co2 system?
where I can find magnetic ball like you show on 3:26
Hi, Any suggestions why citric acid bottle pressure is going up around 2 very quickly?
Thanks
Thanks
I got a little ambitious with the CO2 and had to resuscitate a few fish.
Setting this up today and needed some info, awesome video and subscribed too. Thanks dude 🙂
Diy !!! How mny day r co2 work
How about HCl?
I'm pretty sad I never found these videos before, these are some of the best videos on here for information on fish tanks, thanks. Hope whatever journey you are on is successful 🙂
Hey! Do I have to shake the bottle again when I have to use it the next day as my baking soda has been settled down as a sedimentation over night.
If anyone cannot find citric acid powder use lemon juice with some water works just as well and gets the device up to 2 bar ish
I thought that we cannot use Solenoid Valve for DIY CO2 system as it would build up pressure in the plastic bottle and cause issues/ Is this actually safe? What is happenning to the pressure then?
Hi, so if You shut off the needle valve during the night will the pressure in the bottle not build to dangerous level, I guess it is still safe pressure but can someone please confirm?
I'm going to try this. Thanks for all the info and videos!
Wow nice idol.
Once you turn off the valve at night, is it necessary to lift the needle valve, from citric acid mixture. Some say taking out the needle valve stops the reaction and you have to prime the mixture the next day. Please explain.
I noticed you're saying grams and milliliters but yet you're pouring your contraptions out of a liquid measuring cup hence cup what the deal man. You can't convert it over by just looking at the lines in your measuring cup. If you're going to do an informative video maybe you should put all the information into it. Now I have to go online again and do all the damn conversion
I accidentally added 600ml to the baking soda mix as well as the citric acid mix, is this a massive issue?
Great video my man, is this set up alright for indoor plant growing? or just aquariums?
This is literally the BEST channel for beginners the hobby! Even the bigger channels are not nearly as informative and to the point.
C is for Chung, and Chung is a G!
just noticed today the citric acid bottle is almost empty. Looks like the citric acid transferred to baking soda bottle. Is this normal?
unfortunately these diy kits are a roll of the dice…most seem like they will not work for long or at all. Pressure dropping constantly, or going too high…the parts that connect to the bottles will break or leak air sooner than later. Not to mention always having to buy citric acid, which is not cheap either…25$ every 2 months for a 55 gallon tank…it seems that in the end, it costs the same or more as a regular co2 tank, and way more hassle to keep working!!!
Your funny man!!!
great video. Thanks a ton mate! One question, My Bottle A quickly goes into bottle B within hours. Now, bottle B is higher in quantity and also both bottles are solid and the pressure gauge has passed the green. Also, I don't have the magnet to lower or raise the heavy ball in bottle A, I bought this kit from ebay https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Aquarium-DIY-CO2-Generator-System-Kit-With-Pressure-Air-Flow-Adjustment-Wate-AU/392968716463?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=661886018358&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649. it's looks like a good quality but not sure why the bottle A gets empty so quickly and goes into bottle B. I followed all the right measurements too. Please help. What am I doing wrong?
Thank you for your explanation here, you made it really simple to understand. Now lets see if it blows up in my face like my water bill last month
Thanks for the information. I've been running a similar setup for about two months and my solenoid has gotten clogged up with crystalised baking soda. Has anyone else had this issue? Any suggestions on how to prevent this problem?
A is for ACID
B is for BASE
Can you use one of these C02 systems for multiple tanks?
Hi great vid
Question can i use 2 defuser in one setup?
Thank you
Hi..i would like to ask if this diy co2 shall release another chemical / somehow affect the TDS reading?..
Fyi, i am now using this diy co2 for a week..cut story short, while at night, co2 is off, tds increase about 3-5ppm..(i compared the reading yesterday evening against this morning)
But during daytime while co2 is on, tds reading increase 9ppm in 3 hours.. is this normal?..
Thank you
The diy co2 system is $6 on Amazon right now (same as yours), Tailonz Pneumaitc selenoid is $11. I also recommend you to get a better needle valve (Rhinox copper needle valve is a good choice). You can also get citric acid online for $70 50 lb.
I've had it for about a year, lasts on average 2 weeks 1.5 – 2 bps, 50 gallons. I have 20+ kinds of plants, including red ones. It works pretty good.
My co2 gauge is right below green and won’t move. Anyone know why?
why do you need two bottles… why cant you just mix the baking soda, and the citric acid in one tank/bottle, and go from threre?
Is there any alternative for Citric Acid ?
Can you use a 1 L bottle?
Can you use co2 cartridge for guns in an aquarium? Thanks
Is it ok if the pressure in my diy co2 is more than the green line? Thank you so much
Hi, i am hoping to try a acid based diy co2 set up. A question about the types of PET bottles. I have access to two types of PET bottles where I live. One is stiffer kind of plastic and the other is softer. Considering that I would be using a solenoid and shutting flow of co2 off at times, which kind of PET bottles should I use?
Can I use co2 splitter on DIY co2 system?
Sir, I wanna ask, will the Vinegar be as effective as the citric acid as a substitute in creating Co2? Hope you'll notice my question.
Sir can i ask, how would i make sure that may DIY co2 is working great, and make sure that it would not kill my fish
Hi there, Really helpful set of videos thank you. I purchased the diy co2 system off amazon. I also purchased the electronic solenoid so i can set up a timer with it. One issue i have is that the thumbscrew that comes with the DIY CO2 system is really hit and miss. I'll set it up for a number of bubbles in the bubble counter then ill check it an hour later the number of bubbles will be different. is it that the thumbscrew is broken or do i need some sort of pressure regulator? thanks in advance
Hey by the way my plants are still alive the one that you told me what it might be it's doing really well surprisingly. I have yet to get the root tabs but as soon as I get paid on the 10th I'm getting them. In the meantime I've got liquid fertilizer. Which seems to be keeping them from dying. my anubias is doing well and the stuff that looks like kind of like long leafy grass that you put in the back of the tank is doing pretty well but this stuff that looks like Christmas tree is starting to turn yellow at the bottom and brown so it's not doing too well. I pulled it all out and I cut off all the parts that are dying and maybe try it as a floater plant and see if it does better
Hey thanks for this video because CO2 cost a friggin fortune in Taiwan.
im running this system for 5 days now, but the pressure is increasing to 2,2 kg/cm3. is this a problem or am i just fine. im a bit concerned since its out of the green range if you know what i mean.
Around here I don't have place to refill me tank so DIY mix is actually Cheaper then travel cost to refill place.
I tried the same setup but my citric acid kept going into the baking soda bottle. So in half a day, the citric acid is all gone… did i do something wrong?
I love your videos! Fast, informative, lots of extra info and extra gadgets with links you tell us about and the sarcastic jokes are my favorite!!! Thank you
I always get so much more from your videos in less time then others that drag along & frustrate me showing obvious steps that could have been just said instead of demonstrated. I’ve already used two of your videos for a dirt tank and CO2 in just 24hours.
