1:02 Are you supposed to somehow connect camera to the bottom of fishtank? If not, you’d have to hold the tank (as well as the camera) the entire time

Real talk, a HUGE PRO to this trick is the amount of energy you’d save getting to breathe air! Lmfao funny but real FACTS

Thanks for the tip. Dont know if this would work but maybe drill a hole in the bottom add a quarter inch for mounting and seal it!

Thanks so much for this free tip!! How did you attatch the camera to the fishtank tho? Looks like you're only holding the camera, so ther emust be a way to fixate the camera to the fishtank right?

That's just about the limit! Very cool! For my underwater models I put about 6000 € in water. You can save that 😉
(Well not quite … but idea is cool)

Let me ad 2 things to this.
#1. Coat the outside of the tank with Rain-X The water should shed off easier for an even cleaner transition.
#2. Get an old Tripod, remove the mount, once it is all where you want it epoxy that in place then have the quick release for the camera and you can lock it in. More focus on the shot and less on holding everything in place.

We have a video coming up where we need to film underwater in a creek and then come out of the water to show the fish tank above the water on the shore line. The plan was you use a GoPro I think now I will shoot it twice. Once with the GoPro and once with a DSLR and see which comes out better.

you could use a tall flower vase as well. If you are using a phone put it in a plastic bag and you can fully emerge the bag in.

Thank you so much for this trick. I haven't used a fish tank yet and was planning to shoot from the outside like from the bottom as someone walks by river, or is in sink full faced, or side on etc. This is awesome – the shot with the palms as the lady rises out out of the water…ugh makes me want to be there.
    Awesome!

Hi! I want to use this trick for a photo shoot for under and above water style photos. Do you think that the glass of the tank will be enough clear for a good quality of pictures? And do the lens must touch the glass or not necessary? Thanks for your help.

Love it. I do underwater all the time with my Pentax Optio WG2. Got an in-store demo camera all for about $200. Take it to the bottom of the pool all the time. Doesn't do 4K but that's OK with me. If you put Rain-X on the glass, it helps a lot too.
