John, I had the same thing happen to my Fox Face a few years ago. I was cleaning my tank and I think it got really stressed and died. Really sad. Sorry to hear that it happened to you too.

I would like to note John said US THE ENTIRE TIME. These wonderful people are a TEAM! They are not separate people! They are an amazing and generous couple. they run their business both youtube and the store as EQUAL PARTNERS! The Clash def dropped the ball with this snaffoo. IT RUBBED LOTS OF PEOPLE THE WRONG WAY, I would have cancelled the ENTIRE weekend if I hadnt already shelled out my money for everything. My question is Did they EVER APPOLOGIES?!

HI I've been watching binge watching your videos I'm setting up a 10-gallon betta tank and a beginner. So your video have been invaluable to me. I watched your top 10 betta tank mates. Would wanted your opinion if you think this is too much for a 10 gallon tank, 1-betta; 6 rummynose tetras; 2 nitrile snails; 2 panda corys; and 2 mollies.

Gosh guys I'm so sorry that happened to you truly, I'm completely shocked and really sad to hear this. As someone who attended the Clash I will say that you were missed! And I definitely missed you because I was going to sponsor you for the event! I was so proud and honored to have the chance to do that. I've watched you for over a decade! I even play your videos in our store lounge area on the big screen for all my customers to see. You're an important part of our store helping to educate our customers…. you are the The OG of fish YouTubers! So yeah, I was beyond excited to know that you were coming. We've been going to the Keystone Clash for years and I couldn't believe that you would come to such a small event. Then when I logged on to the Clash website and couldn't find you guys, my heart sunk but I understood that something probably came up…. not this though, wow. My local Feeder supply store has 3 Oscars, they are large and are being sold for $99 for the 3. No refunds. They have been there for several weeks and look just like the ones swimming behind John. I am near Lex, KY, so if this interests you, let me know, I will send address. I wish I had a big tank, but I am limited to 55.

even if your wife wasnt your 50/50 partner of the company and didnt do youtube with you its weird they would invite you then expect your family to pay, my dad got invited to a lot of things for work when i was growing up and family was always paid for like hey can you come do this thing at this resort or restaurant or whatever bring the family, and the family was always paid for
I think these fish stores would benefit (and their customers!) if they had printouts of channels on YouTube that had all the information to watch. I had no idea that there was so much information out there! I stumbled on it!

Do Mom & Pop stores show up on Google Maps, I live in SE Texas and the only fish stores I can find are a Petco and some Petsmarts that are a few hours away. I can understand why you wouldn't own a pet store around the Texas Coast, but I'm hoping to find one instead of ordering everything online

About fishstores: I've been to a few. And the most popular one in my city.. It's fantastic. They don't have a fancy looking store, and it's not in a fancy shopping area. But for being that type of store, it's big. And the people working there, they really know what they're doing! They seem to know everything about every fish and every plant. They said "Hi!" when I came there, but I could still have my own time looking at everything, and as soon as I asked for help, I got the best help possible. I also wanted some advice about my plants, and oh my, those plants grows like crazy now and look so beautiful 😀 Next week I'm planning to go there again.

If you guys are going to aquashella in Daytona this year, you should stop by Floating Sea Aquatics in Jacksonville, Florida it’s a pretty big store and looks amazing inside
I really like going to fish stores. You'll not always find an employee who is very knowledgeable but yesterday I went to one I had only found last week (there are lots of pet stores around here) and there was a young lady who I think knows a fair deal about plants and she knows which wholesaler the fish come from (most of them from Ruinemans Group) and how to recognise this wholesaler from the labels on the tanks. I bought some small things like an algae sponge (the kind with a very fine structure that work very well and are also used for removing stains from resin dolls) and a plant.
Most stores here are decent, but employees are not equally experienced. I like the ones who know a lot. 🙂
The one I know best is maganese, plants suffer problems taking in maganese nutrition with anything above 6.5 PH
I generally know within a minute or so of walking in whether I'm going to be a regular or if that store is off my list. I got ridiculously lucky that my local Petco (literally three miles away) is awesome. The two guys running the fish department are both hobbyists and knowledgeable! And if course it's nice to be in first name basis with the folks getting your fish bagged up. They've definitely bagged a lot of fish for me! I have three rainbow fish to one and received shrimp and salvinia from the other from his personal collection. They've sold me four tanks, supplies, food, decorations, plants, and a ton of crickets for my son's geckos hahaha. There is another Petco about 15 minutes away I refuse to shop at because their store is dirty, tanks are terrible, and employees are just there for a job. I have another store in my mom's hometown I wish I could shop with, but it's a 12 hour drive home 😢. Definitely give every place a personal look over when possible and decide from there. Most, I will go back to visit if it wasn't great because as you pointed out, we all have bad days.
I totally understand (and agree) that there was a principal involved here, but just out of interest how much was the ticket after discount ?
one of my bristlenose plecos when he was small got himself stuck in the bottom of my intake sponge, each bristle like a hook attached to the sponge, i spent 30 mins carefully with a pair of scissors getting this fish free, then spent £5 on a new intake sponge.
Here in Canada we do this. Pay for the car ahead or behind us. 1 person will start a chain and they can go for 20+ vehicles.
I 100% back you on your feelings about the disrespect from that contact. I would have felt the same way.
