@fstoppers can you comment on the real savings in taxes after being act 20 and 22 for a year? Was it worth the move, the challenges from a purely financial perspective?
Here is a unique picture of aCucujus Cinnaberinus beetle shot from below.Not many people in the world saw this beetle from below, since it lives under the bark of trees and is in the Red Book.

Hi Lee and Patrick, you bring up so many different topics, pictures and stories around photography. That is really interesting! Again and again you come up with smart thoughts about compositions.
But sometimes you are so self-assured of your professional judgements, while I think, you just totally miss the point. Take the firefighter as an example: you feel the road and the gras to the left and right of the road is ordinary and boring, and so do I. Hence, you judge that the photographer missed the much better composition where the flames on the grass would be right at the bottom of the frame, the smoke would fill the entire frame and the camera would portray the firefighter from knee height or hip height. Yes, this would be an option. But you completely miss that such composition would tell the opposite message of this one image. In this composition, the firefighter is small and realistically out of any hope that he can extinguish or contain the fire. As we see the firefighter from behind in the middle of the frame facing the disaster, we viewers identify ourselves with the brave, but helpless firefighter. We are left without hope.
What story would your composition tell? It would show a huge hero of a firefighter with his shoulders and head way above the camera right in front of the fume. This hero would just be checking and next he would strike the blaze and soon there would only be little smoke left. We viewers would feel like we are rescueing Brasil and Australia.
I am not asking you to favor and like the composition, and yes, the tar and gras is ordinary and boring somehow, and flames and smoke look photoshoped to me, but you would better tell that you don't understand why the photographer did not chose your composition. That would have been the truth.
I think in the image with the stripes and weird fingers in the beginning, the “glossy” thing is the logo of the photographer or not?
I've only watched about one third of this video when I noticed that you guys seem to be missing some great factors involved with these shots. First of all, the pics I've seen so far are so much better than what most photographers can do. So you should have more humility when critiquing these photos. But the obvious goofs seem to be slipping right over both your heads. For example, the label on the cigarette does not look real, (maybe on purpose) one, for the spelling of 'Tobacco' and two, just for the look of a 'Marlboro' filter. The over abundant use of negative space in the fog woman in the 'chamber'…definitely should have been cropped, so you could see the subject better…or at all. The shadow of the seagull against the wall. I didn't hear either one of you mention that the shadow was backwards to the bird that we see in the foreground. I'm guessing this was overlooked maybe by the photographer or would have to be a shadow of another bird that is not in frame. OK, I didn't wait long enough for the videos presenters to speak. They caught the shadow discrepancy. (sorry). And the first photo of the striped lady…well that just blew me away when I first saw it. This guy did things in this shot that you and I could not figure out at all of how they were done. These photos are definitely out of mine and your leagues both. Beautiful stuff!!!
@57 with overhead shot with 2 people and shadows…4 or 5…Great shot! Crop could have been a more cohesive composition.
@53min on the field and clouds …He says obviously there is no sunlight coming from in front of camera.." as you see the light over the field from camera left and ahead, by seeing the green grass shadows on the asphalt. Oh boy! The clouds are covering the sun where it is thick…Wow, these guys DO NOT observe anything in nature to understand anything.
The balloon retracts too fast and the liquid is airborn…..Geez these guys are thick! I never done it either, but thats not my excuse!

WTF is wrong with you morons.,..No wonder you have a YT channel and not out there doing pro work. You guys are TOOLS and can only replicate it has already been perfected…ZERO Talent!

@19min the spices and such…NOTHING special…more about placing those in a circle than anything else. Good color sat, but nothing that draws the viewer.

@12:20…the cig butt….Geez, this is supposed to be insane? lol…Its just a macro shot with a hard contrast process. The hardest part is to prop the butt so it doesn't fall over….Actually the hardest part is smoking it, or waiting for it to burn off the tobacco!
If they cannot read that it says "WOW" above the hat, they need to throw away what they are using and STFU! I mean, I don't even like the image so much, but its a great play on the idea of contour lines, which is usually a student level project many of us have done in perspective or drawing in foreshortening…But these 2 guys need to keep their mouth shut, as I just dropped a HUGE amount of credibility of them not even know how or what to critique about.
sorry guys everybody has his taste and I am not the best photographer either, but most of the pictures were not so interesting or unique – i loved the shadow picture and the more room, the guy with the tornado was most probably right… he used the light settings (I am sorry for you), the iceberg photographer should have used more lightroom settings – and I am sure there are more non-unique submissions
The staircase outside of the building is from Helsinki and Bio Rex building, so no fake 🙂
