When I was unaware of the beasts that inhabit the gulf of Mexico, age 4-14, I used to spend hours snorkeling and exploring the area where one can walk out for half mile or more in places, just off the alabama coast…never giving thought to what could be lurking in the water. It's a miracle I never encountered a killer. Guardian angels working overtime.
