This is Part II of the Tidal Gardens reef photography tutorial. Graphics programs these days are incredibly powerful tools for image manipulation. This video goes over three simple image manipulations (white balance, black point, and saturation) that can help out your photos greatly. First off however, it’s a good idea to shoot in RAW.
RAW is an uncompressed file format that preserves the most image data. You want to start with as much image data as possible because it allows the finest adjustment in post processing. Smaller compressed files tend to “bake in” much of the color and detail, so when one goes to edit the image, it’s more difficult to make fine adjustments.
It’s important to note however that RAW is not a standard file format. Just about every camera has it’s own format for RAW, so make sure your particular camera is supported by the RAW processor of your choice.

Hi, I've a question regarding the glass and water.
1. How do you clean it before you start photographing? There are streaks in it and I would really love to prepare for this before I photograph, so I won't have to do so much cleaning in my post processing. Any tips on what products to use / wipe the inside & outside of the glass with?
2. Also I Noticed that when I do photograph on an aquarium, I see white things (blobs) flowing around inside the aquarium. How do I prepare for this?
Would really appreciate any tips on these matter.

Great video: Both part 1 and part 2. You like to do a video on photographing tank light with LED light. I find I is very hard to photograph tank light by LED lighting. It always display patches of magneta

This is great info! Is it too much trouble to ask for a video on working with video footage? I have a mid-grade camera (Canon T3i) and I have a hard time getting the colors on camera to match the tank. My blues look purplish, and it never looks right when I use a custom white balance in the camera.
