Rachel mentioned about using an off camera flash. She also mentioned something called commander mode. Not all cameras, even DSLR cameras have the ability to trigger a remote flash unit. This being said use some of the tips she mentioned in the video. Emphasis should be on your light. Also if you prefer to shoot in auto mode you could look at setting your cameras to "sport" or "action" mode. This will help with the speedy fish.

Sorry Rachel but this is not "for any level" this is intermediate and up. Total noobs are not going to understand anything about cameras and lenses, much less what manual settings are and how to use them.

Hi Rachel, with a DSLR you have a good option to "play" with the ISO settings to obtain a quicker shutter with less light, most cameras will use ISO 100 as default, you can at least with newer DSLR easy use an ISO 400 / 800 or even higher without picture degradation.

Thank you for the tips, I've been looking into getting a better cell phone that has a decent camera and some detachable lenses, however I'm not sure if the lenses would take away from the convenience of having a phone camera in the first place and if it'd be more cost effective and flexible to just get an slr camera. Maybe you could make a video of the pro's and cons of a phone vs a camera?
