प्राचीन परभणी शहर शिव की पत्नी पार्वती और विष्णु पत्नी लक्ष्मी यहा साथ रहने के बाद मिलकर परभणी शहर निर्माण किया था, इसलिये इसका नाम प्रभावती नगरी था ।
यहा प्राचीन काल में गुफा में बैठकर भगवान नृसिंह ने तप किया था
वही जगह नृसिंह पोखर्णी के नाम से जानी जाती है । बाद में इंद्र को शाप से मुक्ती के लिये इसी नृसिंह मंदीर में तप किया था । भगवान प्रल्हाद की माॅं कयाधु परभणी के तालुका हिंगोली शहर जन्म हुआ था । प्राथरी शहर पांडु पुञ अर्जुन ने बसाया था । परभणी जिल्है में प्रभावती गोपी का जन्म हुआ बाद में वह गोकुल में उसका ब्याह हो गया उनकी बाल गोपाल कृष्ण के साथ बहुत सारी लीला कथा है । भगवान राम और लक्ष्मण सिता को खोजते पंचवटी नाशिक से परभणी शहर तक आये और यहा के जंगलो से विराम कर के आगे कर्नाटक यांनी तब का किष्किंधा प्रांत में गये थे ।

Stop going to goa. Goa is unsafe. The goan people can kill tourists. Even goan police supports them and they don't listen to tourists. Goa is not safe for tourist.
